How to Make Sparks, Flame, Fire Without Matches or Lighter… Battery = Fire

** This is a tip for those who backpack, camp, hike, etc. It's also a great idea to have these items in a survival kit. The practicality of this tip is due to the steel wool lighting, igniting even when damp or wet. This tip is not meant to replace the traditional lighter or match, but to add a reliable option to a necessity ... especially in a dire situation. icon smile ** Use CAUTION

Matches and lighters aren’t easy to light in wet conditions, whereas the steel wool and battery does the trick in dry AND wet conditions, without having to try several times. If anyone I know goes camping, I’ll be recommending the steel wool and battery.
