Hey good job. I made mine about a week or so ago. Had the same problem. I put electrical tape on the inside of the mouth piece. Can’t wait to see you shoot. Im not that great on the aimming. But I could kill a bird at 10 feet.

Can it penetrate a a tin can? I have a much more compact dart that will, if you are interested.

    what is it

It is made using the wire nuts as you see in this video, but instead of using a bamboo or wooden shaft, you drill a small hole into the wirenut and then take a 16D common framing nail cut the head off and press fit it. It will actually penetrate a 1/4th inch thick piece of leather. Provided you blow hard enough. Very accurate and powerful. It helps to take a file to the point of the nail to gain more penetrating abilty.

I would love to see how you did that bud. Sounds like something I would definitely want to try out!

I found I had to do just the opposite. I had to take a small file to the inside of the pipe cause the wire nuts wouldn’t go through the “mouthpiece” reducer part. Man does it shoot. Ten feet a way it hits with more power than a Airsoft gun, that’s for sure.

I used wire from a coat hanger instead of the bamboo for darts. They have a lot more penetration power now.

i like the electrical tape idea. i had the same issue with my darts falling through the pvc. i swapped out the bamboo skewers for lengths of coat hanger, straightened, cut and sharpened as close to the same length as possible. they penetrate alot better than bamboo.

Thanks for the great vid. I can’t seem to find the grey PVC anywhere. When I can find it, it’s not threaded. Where did you find yours?

Great addition, I found some gray electrical conduit that’s pretty darn ridged at 3 ft and all the wire nuts I have are either too small like yours or to big. I was wondering if any tape would work but I have to ask, what size reducer did you use. It looks like the common yellow automotive wire nuts I have are 3/8 at the end (opposite the taper). This has been bugging me sense I saw the video because Dave Canterbury does not address this, he just says yellow wire nuts and a reducer.

you can use wire cycle spokes they make deadly darts, also you can make cone flights out of thin vinyl from a craft or hobby shop, card ones are good i use photo paper but they need a coat of varnish (clear nail varnish dries quickly) as they are not very waterproof and fall apart after half a dozen shots

try shooting it at your foot to see if it penetrates skin
